Various job descriptions from Tech Director to Legal to Producer and other core positions outlined below for core requirements. Each company has specific needs according to industry concentraion and technologies.
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
10 plus years technical experience with at minimum five years experience in the video game industry. Have led at least five projects. Expert in design, coding, debugging, and consulting on any required platform. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of various animation packages, 3D graphic techniques, and a sound synthesis. Must be able to write technical product specifications and requirements. Ability to learn new platforms in a short period of time. Must be detail oriented, able to quickly identify technical risks and missing aspects of a technical design, and not overlook small details. Ability to maintain project schedules and direct programming team to achieve deadlines. Self-motivated and strong work ethic. Often will work on internal and external projects. The Technical Director will often assist in providing support and direction to the Research & Development department.
DIRECTOR NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
5 plus solid years industry or related experience. Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Strategic thinker with strong grasp of business realities in software industry. Strong personnel management skills. Intimate familiarity with software development community and video game software across all genres, platforms and categories.
ONLINE OPERATIONS MANAGER
Oversee billing, co-location, server hardware/software, metrics databases, account databases, patch-servers, web servers and ISP relationships. Qualifications include 5 years Management experience. Working knowledge and experience as a Systems Engineer and familiar with both local and wide area networks. 3+ years experience designing and implementing TCP/IP, UNIX (Solaris/Linux), and General Networking (Switches/Routers). Internet Architecture (National and International). Experience building World-Wide networking infrastructures. Online game experience. Experience working in a service oriented business (ISP or Internet based business) preferred.
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Extensive Director level experience to include 4+ years producing titles with at least 4 shipped titles. Scheduling projects, managing internal and external development. Strong business and management skills. Technical, design, or web development experience a plus.
LEGAL COUNSEL
This position generally requires 3-5 years experience working as a corporate lawyer or in part of a law firm. Experience with a wide variety of litigation issues, employment, copyright and trademark, and patent law required. Experience with software development, entertainment industry, or intellectual property desired.
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
LINUX experience with solid WinNT server experience. May handle multiple systems including large scale web and database servers, and offsite software installations. System Admin may manage NT, IIS, SQL servers. Minimum 1 year high end work required in addition to experience with NT4, SQL Server 7, Windows 2000, ASP, VBS, IIS 4, Server Management Software, routing and switching technology and other common internet technology. MCP or MCSE preferred.
MIS MANAGER
Solid experience with PC, Macintosh, and SGI setup and maintenance, Windows 98/NT/2000, IRIX, Macintosh OS, Cisco IOS, Microsoft Exchange Server, Cisco routers and switches, PBX, Disk arrays and back-up devices. Design and maintain Local Area Networks, optimizing network throughput, installing and configuring operating systems, troubleshooting hardware and software on PCs, network security including firewall configuration, PBX configuration and maintenance, and cabling/infrastructure planning.
DIRECTOR ONLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Bachelor's degree or 2 – 3 plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience overseeing customer service function. Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. A high degree of computer literacy, including detailed knowledge of spreadsheets, Internet software, e-mail, database software.
WEB PAGE DESIGNER
2 plus years professional experience designing entertainment based consumer websites and web pages. Very strong FLASH and HTML with knowledge of JavaScript and working with online databases a plus. Strong organizational skills. Must be detail minded with excellent follow up skills. Interest and knowledge of computer games industry a plus. College degree helpful but not required. Must provide a list of links to previous work available on the web.
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
Three years minimum production experience or associate producer credit on a published title. Excellent organizational, communication and management skills with a strong desire to contribute to a uniquely creative environment. Must exhibit an affinity for entertainment software and possess a strong sense of aesthetics applicable to producing high quality entertainment products. Must have successfully developed and managed people in a production environment. Must manage his/her team with strong empathy for the difficulties of balancing production priorities with other's needs preferred. Experience with PC or Console platforms required. Game industry experience preferred. College degree preferred. |
